The city is home to many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. For a more active type of festival, there are regular mountain running races throughout the year as part of the Ticino Mountain Running Cup.A day trip on the Lago Lugano is a must, as is a walk along Lugano’s famous waterfront, with breathtaking views over the lake. The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour and 5 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 20-minute journey. Arriving by train? Lugano’s railway station is a 25-minute walk from the apartment.
